With high protein leaves (20 to 43% crude protein) and energy-rich edible root mass, Trophy Radishes is an excellent food source for deer beginning with bow season and continuing on through the fall and winter months. Its tops and roots also contain significant levels of trace minerals essential to deer including copper, zinc, manganese and boron. As an added benefit, once the radish plants die, they deteriorate into rich organic matter releasing nitrogen and other nutrients to improve soil organic matter, fertility and tilth. Trophy Radishes can be planted alone or used in mixtures with winter annual grasses and legumes.
